Euphoric Students at the Pep Rally

The Homecoming Pep Rally was on Thursday, Sept. 22 in the main gym at Lincoln Southwest.
During the pep rally, the cheer teams and the Emeralds performed, and the band performed the school fight song.
“They (practices) were good,” senior cheerleader Alexis Bartek said. “They kind of were stressful for a while. We did get the routine about 2-3 weeks ago so we did have a lot of time to practice the routine.”
Students heard from the football team, and the Homecoming Court candidates were introduced by Mr. Bob Henrichs.
The freshman Homecoming female candidates were Ava Kunkel, Aspyn Moon, Sophie Fox and Zoe Weeks. The male candidates were Jermaine Parker, Ryan Manning, Justin Chuol and Wyatt Grummert.
The freshman Homecoming Royalty winners were Zoe Weeks and Jermaine Parker.
The sophomore Homecoming female candidates were Lillie Harvey, Sophia Wynne, Adyson Lawrence and Kennedi Henrichs. The male candidates were Jack McCormick, Jackson Carpenter, Michael Ukec and Saxon Straight.
The sophomore Homecoming Royalty winners were Kennedi Henrichs and Michael Ukec.
The junior Homecoming Royalty female candidates were Kanana Kairigi, Kensington Hazen, Lily Kalbasz and Evynn Shelton. The male candidates were Marco Spinar, Jackson Moore and Thomas Fraley.

“I am excited since it’s my senior year,” said senior Jordyn Frank. “I feel honored to be on the court even if I don’t win. It’s still a big memory.”
The senior Homecoming Royalty female candidates are Jordyn Frank, Yeilli Gonzalez Lopez, Darby Pankoke, and Avery Ryder. The male candidates are Steven Dao, Krew McCormick, Collin Fritton and Parker Bingham.
The winners of the senior Homecoming Royalty will be announced tonight at the Homecoming Dance. The Homecoming Dance will take place on Friday Sept. 23, from 8:00 p.m.-11:00 at the Lincoln Southwest main gym.
“It’s kind of weird and crazy that it’s my last (Homecoming Pep Rally) one but it was fun,” Bartek said.
