The Lincoln Southwest Forensics Speech and Debate garage sale will be held on Friday, April 29 from 9:00 a.m.-4:00p.m. and Saturday, April 30 from 9:00 a.m.-3:00p.m. in the Lincoln Southwest Commons.

The garage sale is organized by the speech and debate sponsors and head coaches Matt Heimes and Toni Heimes.

“We are excited to have it back after a three year hiatus (due to the pandemic) and we found it to be a really good fundraiser,” Matt said.  “It helps the community to get rid of things and make money for the team. I think the last time in 2019 we made about $2,000 on it, which is a lot of money coming out of a garage sale but we filled the commons and tried to organize everything from clothes, furniture, art and everything in between. Anything that is left goes to GoodWill so it also helps the community that way.”

All students, staff, families and community members are invited to donate unused items in their households. Any left over items will be  donated to continue benefiting the Lincoln community.

“It will help us pay for our season because we still need money to cover entry fees and judges from the season,”  Toni said. “We will basically bring everything in and we categorize things and price everything but everything is priced to sell because we want to get rid of it but still make profit.”

The garage sale items drop off will be on Thursday April 28 from 3:30 p.m.-830 p.m. at door 10, at the back of LSW, where students will be available to unload the items.
