On Wednesdays at 3:15 p.m, Arts and Photography (Art and Photo) Club at Lincoln Southwest High School meets in C106.
The Art and Photo Club is an opportunity for students to express their passion in art by exploring a variety of media in visual art by exploring photography, digital art, painting, and pottery.
“It’s a place where students can go and be creative without having expectations of doing assignments or things like that,” sponsor, Mr. Chad Petska said. “They get a chance to have that freedom to try a bunch of different things without having a teacher to tell them what they need to do.”
The main focus of this student-driven club is to be a fun, stress-free environment for students.
“I draw digitally using iPads. I use the app called Procreate and sometimes I draw on my sketchbook,” freshman Alexa Ladd said. “Sometimes some people do pottery or paintings but I mainly just do digital work for myself.”
The Art and Photo Club may have visiting artists and explore community engagement projects if club members are interested.
