On Saturday, Oct. 21, the Annual Fine Arts and Craft Fair, will be held in the commons. The fair will be held from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The admission is $2 per person and the proceeds will go to the Lincoln Southwest Theater Department.
“The Craft Fair is helpful because the money from the admission tickets will help with the funding of theater,” junior Katie Timmer said. “It is a fun way to bring people together.”
The Fine Arts and Craft Fair is a place that allows small businesses and students to sell their art at a booth. Last year at the Fine Arts and Craft Fair, there were many different items sold, including soaps, wood working, pottery and holiday decor.
“The Craft Fair is good for the school because it gives programs that don’t get a lot of funding a chance for them to get more funding. They can pay for the different things that they will need throughout the year,” senior Jack Anderson said. “We can all work together in order to build up our school and its various activities”
There will be different students and faculty at the Craft Fair. Hive Helpers, a student run environmental club will be selling lip balm, bookmarks and bracelets. Mrs. Melissa Beard, one of Southwest’s Art teachers, will be selling her pottery. Ms. Caila Gans, Southwest Secretary for Payroll and Substitutes, is selling handcrafted crocheted stuffed animals.
