College Visits From University of Kansas and Iowa Western Community College
October 27, 2021
There will be college visits from University of Kansas from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Iowa Western Community College from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday Oct. 27 in the counseling center where students may attend.
“I know that sometimes generating questions can be hard but, we have resources in the counseling center about relevant questions to ask in visits,”said Mr. Anders Peterson. “If you are attending the visit then that must suggest some amount of interest, so then it’s a matter of the things to ask that you are not sure about.”
There are going to be representatives from each college to talk about different programs at their school.
Students must fill out the College Rep Visit Sign Up Form posted in their classroom of graduation year in order to attend.
“College visits are extremely helpful because they give you an insight on the size of the colleges and the type of communities that the colleges have,”junior Joanita Mensah said. “What you might need to do in order to go to your major. It’s also important to ask what course requirements might be required for your major, how long you are required to live there. Some colleges might offer internships and jobs on campus while still giving you credits so you have a faster career field. They’ll also answer questions that your counselor might not know of.”
The next college visit will be on Thursday Oct. 28 from Kansas State University from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
