On Aug. 29 and 30 in the LSW auditorium Southwest students of all grades will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and become an act in the Silver Hawk Theatre Cabaret. Auditions will be taking place in the LSW auditorium. 

“Auditioning for the Cabaret is a totally chill process. Usually you’ll just walk into the auditorium at your selected time and just perform your act for Bob (Henrichs) and Scott (Engel) and that’s it,” senior theatre president Jack Thielen said. “ I wanted to audition for the Cabaret because I feel like it’s a great way to put my art out into my community in a way that is special for me” 

Henrichs is the Director and Engel is the Technical Director of the Cabaret. 

Audition forms for the Cabaret are outside of the Box office in the E-wing hallway for both cast and crew. Students can sign up for a date that they would like to audition. 

In the past, the Cabaret has included several different types of acts including singing, acting and dancing performances. There will be similar acts in this upcoming cabaret for people to look forward to. 

“I am auditioning for Cabaret because it gives me the opportunity to perform songs that I’ve always wanted to do, but can’t with a regular season of theatre,” senior Steven Dao said. “Cabaret gives you a chance to do whatever you want.” 

The Cabaret performances will take place on Friday, Sept. 16 and 17 at 7:00 pm as well as on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 2:00 pm. People will be able to buy tickets from the website www.showtix4u.com/events/17359.
