From Monday, Oct. 2, – Friday, Oct. 6, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) will be selling bundt cakes to fund the travel cost of students competing in service projects. They are sold in front of the trophy cases in the commons for $6 a cake.
“Students can walk up and fill out a sheet,” junior Paige Pomajzl said. “Students will write the first and last name of the person they are buying a bundt cake for. They also have an option to put a message if they wish.”
When students fill out the sheet to purchase a bundt cake, they also get to select a flavor.
“We have pumpkin spice, chocolate chip, white chocolate raspberry, confetti and gluten free chocolate chip,” FCCLA adviser Ms. McKenzie Geier said. “The bundt cakes are from ‘Nothing Bundt Cakes.’ We are making $1.25 from each cake we sell.”
FCCLA is using the profits to pay for students to travel and compete in star competitions. Which are service projects that show different ways students can help their community.
