Auditions for Lincoln Southwest theater’s production of “Beauty and the Beast” will be taking place on Monday, Jan. 16 and Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 6:00 p.m.

Auditions will consist of singing, acting, and dancing.

Those who wish to audition must pick up an audition packet and review it prior to their audition. Packets can be picked up at the box office. In the packet is an audition form which must be turned in at the audition.

“People should audition because it’s a really great community to be a part of,” senior theater president Jack Thielen said. “The time you spend working on the show is time spent cultivating something bigger than yourself. I recommend theater to anyone because it doesn’t matter if you’re shy or outgoing, there’s a place for you in theater.”

Crew-only forms for the musical are due on Tuesday evening at the box office. Students have the option to put on their audition form that if they do not make the cast, they would like to be placed on crew for the production.

“I chose to do crew because I like helping the show come together in that way and being able to lead others,” junior Hannah O’Connor. “People should sign up for crew because it’s a really great environment. Everyone works together no matter their background to put on this big project to make it turn out well.”

The cast and crew lists will be announced on Wednesday after school outside of the box office.
