Why are you retiring?
“After 34 years of service with the LPS district, I knew it was time. I want more time to take care of my grandsons and to do a little bit of traveling. I don’t have many other plans than that for after retirement, but I’m going to have a lot of time to plan the rest.”
Why did you decide to join Lincoln Southwest when it opened?
“It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to open a new high school and I relish the challenge to do that. It was something new. No one in the district had done a four block schedule and I liked the challenge.”
When do you feel accomplished?
“There are many times when I drive home from work and I come to the realization that I get paid to do this. I get paid to have all this fun. So, any day that I have that feeling when I drive home is a feeling of accomplishment.”
What are you going to miss most about LSW?
“I’m going to miss being a part of the community. In general, we are very supportive and cohesive. We staff members just want the best things for our students, so, being a part of that team approach will be deeply missed.”
