I’ve gone to the Ollie & Hobbes at Southpointe Pavilions several times with my family.
To start off, the cuisines are really good. They have a variety of appetizers, burgers, pastas and meats. My favorite appetizer is their bruschetta which is basically toasted bread slices topped off with diced tomatoes, red onions and balsamic reduction. I also love their Grown Up Mac & Cheese and their Berry Blast drink. The bread they use for their bruschetta is long, warm, buttery and tastes absolutely delicious with the tomatoes and balsamic. The bruschetta is very filling and only costs $9.50. However, sometimes there isn’t enough balsamic which makes the sauce mostly tomatoes. Their Berry Blast drink is one of my all time favorite drinks ever. It has strawberry, raspberry, lemon and lime. It’s not too thick nor too watery and the Berry Blast is very refreshing and isn’t very sugary. It comes in a cute pineapple shaped glass with a slice of lime on the rim. The Berry Blast is 24 ounces for $5.50.
I love how industrial and pretty the interior is. They have bright yellow tinted lights that compliment the furniture. Not only do the tables look clean, but they also feel clean and sanitized. When I put my arms down on the table, it doesn’t leave my arms feeling sticky like most restaurants. Along with the interior, the workers are amazing as well. The hostesses are extremely nice and welcoming. When customers walk through the door they are greeted by the hostesses’ smiles. The waiters are equally chummy and delightful as well as talkative and warm to the customers.
Ollie & Hobbes doesn’t have many downsides. One of the only downsides is how the kids’ NY strip isn’t always cooked correctly. My little sister loves it either way though. She always gets it medium rare but they occasionally overcook it. Despite that, Ollie & Hobbes is a ten out of ten restaurant to me.
