Kosovo is a beautiful country with very nice people. There is a welcoming community when it comes to tourists and new people living in the country. Kosovo is located in southwest Europe and in Kosovo they speak Albanian. When I lived in Kosovo for a year, the community was close together which made it feel more comforting and safe.

The food in Kosovo is also delicious. Most of the restaurants are very traditional and serve food in their culture. Some examples of food are byrek, which is a pastry with spinach, cheese and meat. Another dish is cevapcici which is a sausage usually made of beef, pork or lamb.  A traditional drink in Kosovo is a thick yogurt drink called ayran, it is served with many dishes. Pork is uncommon in dishes and it is also hard to find in Kosovo since most of the people in Kosovo are Muslim.

The countryside of Kosovo is beautiful. The mountain sides are gorgeous with beautiful views. The city parts of Kosovo are also very nice, but there is a lot of pollution due to there being many factors in those areas and cars. Every time I walked outside I could smell the pollution in the city which was one of the downsides. There are many tiny shops and cafes in Kosovo everywhere you go. There are also many street vendors with snacks and little trinkets.

Most of the people in Kosovo only speak Albanian but some people can also speak a little bit of English. The people there are very kind to tourists and are helpful when it comes to directions. The community is really friendly and it’s a great place to meet new people.

Kosovo is a perfect place to travel because of the beautiful and welcoming community along with the amazing food and many spectacular sites.
