Freshman Carson Tridle pins his opponent during the freshman wrestling invitational. This meet was just for freshman on the JV team.

As winter sports kick into gear freshman JV wrestlers had their second meet of the year. The meet was an invitational at Northeast held on Thursday Dec. 12.

Some wrestlers felt that they did well in their personal matches and that their performance was great.

“I feel like I did great. There’s always improvement I can do with my matches but I think I did well,” freshman Kaalo Evans said. “I got positive feedback from my coaches though, and that felt good.”

Others feel they have areas to get stronger as the season goes on, like being able to wrestle heavier people.

“I need to improve on my strength,” freshman Cooper Finnegan said. “I need to get stronger if I want to compete more with heavier and stronger weight classes.”

The next meet for wrestling will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 6:00 p.m. for JV and 7:00 p.m. for varsity.
