The reserve volleyball team played their second game of the season at LSW on Thursday, Sept. 5 against Kearney High School.

The Hawks fell to Kearney 2-0. The reserve team still improved their performance since last week’s game against Norfolk.

“I think I played well but there’s always stuff to work on,” sophomore Autumn Hill said. “We improved this game. We definitely played better that first set then we did the whole game last week.”

Compared to the game against Norfolk, coach Nicole Kubik felt that Kearney High was much better competition. Next week as the team plays, they will work on showcasing confidence on the court.

“The good thing is we played better competition this week. I think when we play better competition, the team plays better, and I think as the season goes on we’ll continue to get better,”  reserve coach Nicole Kubik said. “The number one thing we talked about was confidence. The kids practice with a ton of confidence and in games they just need to do the same.”

The team will have a chance to demonstrate their confidence next week against Omaha Westside.

On Thursday, Sept. 12, the reserve volleyball team plays at 6:30 p.m. at LSW.
