On Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 5:00 p.m. The LSW Volleyball team played against Burke, and Millard West at the NSAA District Tournament. The game took place in Omaha at Burke High School.

Southwest lost to Millard West 1-3, but defeated Burke High School 0-3

“We were kind of down on ourselves when we lost the first set, but when we came back and won the second set it felt really good.” Freshman Shaylee Myers said.

Despite losing to Millard West, the Volleyball team sees it as an accomplishment that they were able to win a set.

“We kept fighting through that whole game,” sophomore Holly Ochsner said. “Millard West is one of the top teams in the state, taking a set off of them was something the team came together to accomplish.”

Lincoln Southwest will be hosting State Volleyball Thursday Nov. 8 for class C.

“We had our moments when we were playing really well together, and moments when we let the other team dictate the win.” Varsity Volleyball coach Mark Novotny said. “ They excelled at making big plays when we needed them to the most.”
