The girls JV golf finished third place at the Papillion La-Vista JV Invite on Tuesday, Sept. 10 highlighted by junior Grace Lonowski’s hole-in-one.

“I hit [the ball] and I thought, ‘It’s going into the water,’” Lonowski said. “After I found out though, I wanted to cry.”

The hole-in-one came on hole number six of the front 9 helping her to a 10th place finish at the invite.

The LSW girls JV Green team scored 406 points giving them a third place finish at the Invite and the Hawks JV Silver team scored 545 points for 16th place on a day where the temperature was creeping in the 80’s and 90’s all day.

“It was really hot and I think the excitement from the hole-in-one gave all of us more confidence,” Lonowski said.

Head Coach Jim Danson had high praise for the girls JV golf team and their improvement through out the season.

“I thought our team did outstanding,” Danson said. “The freshman are really coming on strong and I am really happy with their development.”

Next up for the Silver Hawks golf team is the Lincoln Classic Varsity Invite starting at 9:00 a.m. at Holmes Lake Golf Course on Thursday, Sept. 12.
