Lincoln Southwest boys varsity basketball and #8 ranked Papillion-La Vista South will face off Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020 at Lincoln Southwest High School with tip off at 5:15.

Both the Hawks and Titans are looking to continue each team’s momentum into the weekend. In LSW’s last time out, the team had a dominant victory over Fremont, 83-45, on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020. Similarly, Papillion South also came out on top on Thursday, with a 69-51 victory over Omaha North.

“A key is going to be our work ethic on defense. We communicated and had a lot of energy against Fremont,” said sophomore guard, Jared Bohrer when talking about what will be key against the Titans. “If we play with that same defense against Papio. South we’ve got a good shot.”

Defense will be important as Papio. South averages 65.2 PPG as a team, compared to Southwest’s 60.9.

The Titans are led by their senior guard, Jared Mattley, with 14.7 PPG. Mattley has many offers to play basketball next year in college including Midland, Nebraska Wesleyan, Doane, Hastings, and several more.

Southwest’s Student Fan Federation (SFF) announced that the theme for Saturday’s game is ‘Hawk Pride’ for all students looking to attend to support Southwest.
