On Saturday Oct. 27, Lincoln Southwest High School will be holding the Fine Arts and Crafts Fair beginning at 9:00 a.m. Students will be volunteering to work at the craft fair and setting up the Friday night before.

The craft fair occurs every October, and is hosted by the theatre department. The main purpose of the event is to raise money for the theatre, speech and debate programs at LSW.

“I think it’s good to raise money for things you are passionate about,” senior Anna Knapik, who is a member of the speech team, said.

The speech and debate teams will be volunteering to make sweets like chocolate covered pretzels, cakes and a surplus of other sugary goods.

“We have done this craft fair ever since the school was open so this would be our 17th year,” Jake Sedivy, who works in the theatre department, said. “We have vendors that are coming from all across the Heartland.”

The goods being sold at the craft fair are all homemade. Vendors and booths will be selling woodworking, pottery, art and even more.

“I love seeing all the different things people bring,” junior Allie Nora, who is a speech student said. “Art and crafts in general are different from every perspective.”

The Craft Fair is open from 9:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m.
