Students at Lincoln Southwest who are interested in business and leadership can join DECA. DECA is a business and leadership club open to all students. Students meet every Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. in the C209 forum to discuss current business related topics and future competitions.

“Right now we are headed into competition season,” DECA sponsor Kathy Little said, “What that looks like is anybody that’s interested in business or would like to be given a business problem will come up with a creative solution and how they would solve that problem.”

DECA competitions range in topics, some include: entrepreneurship, accessories and fashion, hospitality and tourism, marketing, business finance, personal finance and sports. If any of the topics interest students, they can find Mrs. Little before or after school in the C201 TPC, come to meetings on Wednesday morning or email  Kathy Little.

“It is nice to be able to skip school days for competitions,” DECA president junior Nick Loriaux said. “Meeting people from all over the state and all over the country at some of the competitions is a lot of fun.”

The next DECA meeting will be Jan. 26 at 7:30 a.m. in the C209 forum at Lincoln Southwest.
