For the shortened week of Tuesday, Sept. 4 to Friday, Sept. 8, Southwest has many athletic events happening. Almost all of the school’s teams will be battling it out through the rain and storms that have been forecasted.

 

Softball

The LSW Softball teams were supposed to have games at Doris Bair on Tuesday versus North Star, JV and Varsity were at 5:00 p.m., and Reserve was at 6:30 p.m. They were rescheduled to Sept.19th due to heavy rain. However, the Hawks have more games later in the week, with Reserve playing at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday in a tournament against Southeast, Papillion-La Vista, and Papillion-La Vista South. JV and Varsity will also play on Thursday, at 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. against Pius X. Both games will be held at Doris Bair.

Boy’s Tennis

The Reserve tennis team has already had their Tuesday home game against Lincoln High rescheduled to Sept. 12 at 4:00 p.m.. They have another game at  4:00 p.m. against North Star on Wednesday. JV also plays against North Star on Wednesday. Varsity does not have any games this week, but will be back in action Sept. 11 at 4:00 p.m. at Woods Tennis Courts against Westside.

 

Cross Country

All of LSW’s cross country teams have an invitational against Millard South at Walnut Grove Park at 3:45 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7. The meet will take place at 3:45, and both the JV and Varsity teams will be competing.

 

Football

Silver Hawk Reserve football had their second game of the season at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday against the Southeast Knights. The freshman have a game against Northeast at Seacrest on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 5:00 p.m.. The Varsity team’s next game is the Homecoming game this Friday, Sept. 7, at 4:30 p.m. against Lincoln East.

 

Volleyball

The volleyball team will have their next games on Thursday, with all levels playing at Westside High School. Freshman and JV will play at 5:30, and Reserve and Varsity will play at 6:30.

 

Girl’s Golf

The Varsity and JV girls golf teams have an invitational at Highlands Golf Course on Thursday, Sept. 6 beginning at 10 am. They will play multiple schools from outside LPS as well as inside.
