Have you ever found yourself in the situation where you need to come up with a costume in less than an hour. Not to worry, because The Hawk Newspaper crew has got your back. We’ve come up with 10 last minute DIY Halloween costumes.

  1. Mime: Own a black and white striped shirt? If so, wear that with black leggings, jeans and shoes of your choice.  Then apply some white face paint to your face some pink blush to your cheeks and, there you go. You’re a mime.

  1. Lumberjack: A lumberjack could be the best and simplest costume idea out there. All you need is a plaid shirt, blue jeans, suspenders and boots. You could also wear a black beanie if you’d like. If you own a fake axe then you can carry that. I wouldn’t recommend dragging a real axe everywhere.

  1. Egg: All you need for this DIY is a 24 x 36 inch white poster paper and yellow construction paper. Cut out the white poster paper in the shape of egg whites then cut out the yellow construction paper into the shape of egg yolk. Glue or tape the egg yolk to the egg whites. Attach a piece of a string to both sides to hang this around your neck. You’re an egg!

  1. Tina from “Bob’s Burgers”: We all have favorite cartoon or movie characters. A popular and easy cartoon character to dress up as is Tina from “Bob’s Burgers.” If you have a light blue shirt and a denim skirt or jeans then you already have most of the costume. You can add a yellow hair clip to this costume if you want to be even more accurate to the character

  1. Salt shaker: Transform yourself into a salt shaker. You need a white shirt, cardboard and string. Write “salt” in big letters on the piece of cardboard then attach the string to both ends. Wear a white shirt then hang the cardboard on your neck.

  1. Bunny: This costume only requires two materials: a headband and cardstock. Cut the cardstock into two bunny ears then glue them to the headband. You can wear a shirt that matches the color of the cardstock. There you go. You’re a bunny.

  1. Snowman: Dress up as a snowman this Halloween. All you need is a white shirt and pants, three oversized buttons (you can make the buttons out of paper if you don’t have oversized buttons) and a top hat. You can glue the three buttons to the shirt.

  1. Piglet: How about dressing up as a piglet. Just wear a pink shirt and pants. Make your own pig ears using pink cardstock and a headband. For a tail you can curl up pink pipe cleaners and tape them to the back of your pants.

  1. Cow: Another popular farm animal to dress up as is a cow. Take a white shirt and draw cow spots scattered around the shirt. Wear some black pants and you’re done.

  1. Cat: The most basic and used costume of all is a black cat. Wear black from head to toe and a cat ear headband. Just take some black card stock paper and cut it into a cat ear shape, then glue it to a black headband.

We hope you enjoy these DIY costume ideas. Have fun and stay safe this Halloween.
